The following article was found in the Jan. 14, 1943, Lowell Tribune on page 8, column 2:
    Mrs. Harold McCann and her daughter, Miss Victoria Kuntz, who were called to Camp Seibert, Ala., by the serious illness with pneumonia of their son and brother, Pvt. James Kuntz, returned home last Wednesday, leaving Jim much improved and well on the road to recovery. When Mrs. McCann returned she learned that her other son, Robert, stationed at Sioux Falls, S.D., in an airplane school, had been ill with ptomaine poisoning. Mr. McCann had also been suffering an attack of neuritis and unable to work while she was away.

The following article was found in the January 28, 1943, Lowell Tribune on page 2, column 1:

    Pvt. Robert Kuntz Assigned to Air Force Technical School

    Pvt. Robert W. Kuntz, son of Mrs. Harold McCann, Lowell, has been assigned to the Army Air Force Technical School, at Sioux Falls, S. D., for training as a radio operator-mechanic. He was formerly stationed at Miami Beach, Fla. Private Kuntz writes: "As far as I'm concerned, there is no other branch of the service but the army air corps. Its really swell. You get the best of everything."

The following article was found in the April 1, 1943, Lowell Tribune on page 2, column 1:
    Pvt. Robert Kuntz has been transferred from Sioux Fall, S.D. to Truax Field at Madison, Wis., where he is attending school.

The following April 8, 1943, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 4, column 3:

    Transferred to New Bases

    Mrs. Harold McCann has received letters recently from her two sons, Pvt. James J. Kuntz, and Pvt. Robert Kuntz. Jim has been transferred to Camp Bowie, Texas, and Bob, a radio technician, ahs been transferred to a school at Truax Field, Wis.

This May 6, 1943, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:

    Mrs. Harold McCann and daughter, Mrs. Grant Bellinger, spent last week with their son and brother, Pvt. Robert Kuntz, who is stationed at Truax Field, Wis.

The following June 22, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
    Pfc. Robert Kuntz is home on furlough visiting his mother, Mrs. Harold McCann, and family. Bob is stationed in Florida.

This January 25, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
    Pfc. Robert Kuntz, with the air corps at Kissimee, Fla., arrived home last Friday to spend his furlough with his mother, Mrs. Harold McCann, and husband.

A July 19, 1945, Lowell Tribune article (page 2, column 1) mentions that Pfc. Robert Kuntz was on furlough from Florida.
This August 2, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 5, column 4:
    Open house was held by the Harold McCanns last week when all their children except S 1/c Fred McCann, in the Pacific, were able to come home. Sgt. Robert McCann came from Arizona, S/Sgt. Jack McCann and wife from California, Pfc. James Kuntz from overseas, Pfc. Bob Kuntz from the south, and Mrs. Grant Bellinger and husband, came from Walkerton, Ind., to enjoy the occasion.

This Lowell Tribune article was found in the February 21, 1946, issue (page 2, column 3):
    Pvt. Robert Kuntz arrived home from Florida, Wednesday of last week after receiving his discharge
