The following information comes from Carri Cole, who has done much research on the Davis family:
- Mrs. Mary (Molly) E. Peterson was born Mary E. Gray, daughter of Marion Scott Gray and Hester A. King. Hester King was later married to Joseph M. Scott. Mary was born 16 Oct 1874. She first married William J. Davis, 13 Jan 1892, in Clinton Co., IN. He was the son of Nate Davis (Nathan) and Susanne Angeline Pryor. William J. Davis died in 1914. Mary later married James Henry Peterson. She died 4 May 1973 and is buried in Lowell.
This October 21, 1926, Lowell Tribune wedding announcement appeared on page 1, column 3:
PETERSON - DAVIS
Henry Peterson and Mrs. Mary Davis were united in marriage at Crown Point last Saturday. Both the bride and groom are among the most highly respected citizens and enjoy the friendship of a large circle of friends. They are receiving the congratulations of their friends. The newly married couple will make their home in Lowell.The following October 19, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1 column 6:
BIRTHDAY PARTY GIVEN AT JACOB RULEY HOME
On Sunday, Oct. 15th, a birthday surprise party was given, honoring the birthdays of Mrs. Mabel Hahn of Evanston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Ruley, and Mrs. Molly Peterson of Lowell. The gathering, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ruley, was a surprise to both guests of honor as each thought the party was for the other.Present were Mr. and [Mrs.] Al Hahn and daughter, Roberta and Mrs. James Pierce and baby Donna, of Evanston, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Paulsen and children, Marcella and Tommy of Crown Point, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Ruley and children, Donald, Dean, and Mildred, Mrs. Carl Ruley, Mrs. Harold Cornell, Mr. and Mrs. John Clifford and son, Neal, Chester Ruley, Mrs. Molly Peterson and the host and hostess.
The guests of honor received several lovely gifts. Delicious refreshments were enjoyed by the large group.
