Agnes Mitch (1911-1923)
- Agnes, daughter of Bartha and Maggie Mitch, was born September 2, 1911, and peacefully took her flight to Realms of Glory, November 5, 1923, having attained the age of 12 years, 2 months and 3 days.
She was always a bright and cheerful child and enjoyed good health until two years ago when she was subjected to an attack of scarlet fever, which left as an after affect, an enlargement of the heart, which caused her death, after a prolonged period of intense suffering. During her illness she was so patient and cheerful as to attract the attention of the many friends who called upon her.
Agnes was a beloved member of the Girls' class of the Sunday school of the Church of Christ and will be keenly missed by her little co-workers and playfellows.
A loving father and mother mourn her departure. She is the first of twelve brothers and sisters to answer the call of the Good Shepherd: Ed, Martin, John, Henry and Byrl Mitch; Mrs. Clara Jones, Mrs. Alice Soderstrom, Mrs. Mary Schaflein and Misses Carrie, Helen and Blanche Mitch.

Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday at 2 p.m. Rev. Fred Gibson, pastor of the Christian church, preached the funeral sermon. Interment was made in the Lowell cemetery. Undertaker William Sheets had charge of the burial service. The following were flower girls: Emma Weakly, Beulah Schilling, Esther Anderson, Irmadell Johnson. The pall-bearers were: Elmer Anderson, Harold Alyea, Sherdon Ruge, Roland Moore, Glen Steward and Wayne Petry.
The following November 15, 1923, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 5, column 3. Note that the married name of her sister Alice appears as "Soderstrom" in the above article, but as "Sodestrom" in this article.
- Mrs. Paul Sodestrom, of Laporte, Ind., and Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Jones, of Rolling Prairie, Ind., and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Mitch, of Hebron, John Mitch, of Hammond, Henry Mitch, of Shelby, and Miss Carrie Mitch, of Chicago Heights, were called home Monday of last week, on account of the death of their sister, Agnes.
