Aldus N. Thomas (1889-1920)
- Aldus, son of Emory and Esther Thomas was born April 1, 1889. He was untied in marriage December 2, 1911, to Miss Mabel Turner, who lived but five months after her marriage. He was again married September 3, 1916, to Bessie Ludium, of Miami, Florida.
Aldus was affected for several months and passed away January 12, 1920, at the of 30 years, 9 months and 11 days. He leaves to mourn him his wife, father, one sister, Miss Clara Thomas, two brothers, John and Don Thomas. He was a young man who had the respect and esteem of all who knew him and will be greatly missed by many outside the immediate family.
The family has suffered four losses by death within the past fifteen months. First, Milo, who died in France in the service of his country in October 1918, next the mother, who died on December 15, 1918, and then Mary, who passed away December 22, 1918. The deceased was a member of the local camp of the Modern Woodmen.
Funeral services were held in the Christian church Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. C.A. Brown, pastor of the M.E. church, preached the sermon. Music was furnished by Mrs. Harry Sanger and Mrs. Raymond McCarty. The following acted as pall-bearers; H. Gershman, William Graves, Fremond McCarty, Clark Leary, Will Shurte and L.W. Ragon. Interment was made in the mausoleum at Crown Point.
