Anna (Ann, Anne, Annie) M. Belshaw Beebe (1849-1927)

- Anna M. Belshaw was born in West Creek township, Lake county, Indiana, December 1, 1949, and died at the home of her daughter, in Chicago, April 7, 1927, at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 6 days.
She was the daughter of Henry and Mary Belshaw, and was a member of a family of nine children -- three of whom are still living: Mrs. Dacie Dinwiddie, of Lowell; Charles J. Belshaw, of Crown Point, and William Belshaw, of Hobart. She grew to womanhood at the place of her birth, and was married to Samuel C. Beebe, of Lowell, in February 1873.
With her husband she moved to Broken Bow, Nebraska, in 1881. Of this union three children were born -- Harry C. Beebe, of Cincinnati, Ohio; Roscoe J. Beebe and Mrs. Berniece J. Ditchburne, of Chicago.
The family in 1894 returned to the east, locating in Chicago, where Mr. Beebe engaged in the printing business until his death, which occurred in April 1910. Mrs. Beebe continued to reside in Chicago, making her home with her only daughter up to the time of her passing away.
Mrs. Beebe was a woman of refinement and culture and [was] loved by all who knew her. In her early life she became united with the Methodist Episcopal church. She lived true to the profession she had made and was loyal to the church of her choice until her death.
The remains were brought to Lowell Saturday and funeral services were held at the M.E. church at 11 a.m. Rev. E.A.* Doughtery, pastor of the church, conducted the funeral services. Interment was made in Lowell cemetery, in charge of Undertakers Sheets and Son. The following acted as pall bearers: George Hoevet, E.J. Pixley, H.L. Baughman, John Miller, James Brannock and L.W. Ragon.
