Eliazabeth L. "Effie" Buckley Miller (1863-1924)

- Effie Buckley, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Buckley, was born in Lake county, Indiana, July 12, 1863, and died at her home east of Lowell, June 11, 1924, at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 29 days.
She was united in marriage February 5, 1890, to Peter J. Miller, to which union was born four daughters and two sons. One daughter, Carrie, died in infancy.
Mrs. Miller was a woman who enjoyed the respect and esteem of all who knew her. She was a woman who was a home maker and her chief thought was to make home life pleasant for her family. She was a good neighbor and friend. She will be sadly missed in the home and in the community in which she resided for so many years.
She leaves to mourn her death her husband, five children, John B., Ella M. Weller, Elizabeth, Fred and Harriet; three grand-children; one sister, Mrs. Oren Thomas and one brother, Charles Buckley and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held in the Methodist church Friday at 2 p.m. Rev. C.A. Brown, pastor of the church, preached the funeral sermon. Interment was made in the Lowell cemetery. Undertaker Wm. Sheets had charge of the burial service.
The following acted as pall-bearers: Ed Ebert, F.E. Tilton, August Miller, George Ebert, James Craft, Valentine Bower.
The flower girls were: Madeline Slocomb, Flaey Sanger, Fay Clark, Roxie Brownell, Edith Stenerson and Floy Newkirk.
