The following August 5, 1926, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 1, column 2:

    DIES IN HOSPITAL

    PETER MILLER PASSED AWAY YESTERDAY MORNING

    Peter Miller, who went to the hospital a week ago for an operation, passed away at that place yesterday morning at 12:20 a.m.

    He was a great sufferer for several months and during the time he was in the hospital his suffering has been intense. When he arrived at the hospital it was found he had a cancer and that nothing could be done for him, and that death was only a matter of a short time.

    Funeral services will be held at the M.E. church tomorrow, Friday, at 2 p.m. Obituary next week.


This August 12, 1926, Lowell Tribune obituary appeared on page 1, column 5:
    Peter J. Miller, son of Peter and Elizabeth Miller, was born in Bitten, Germany, November 12, 1860. In April 1886, he came to this country.

    February 5, 1890, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth L. Buckley. Six children were born of this marriage, of which one daughter, Carrie, died in infancy. Mrs. Miller died June 11, 1924.

    The following members of the immediate family survive: John B., Chicago; Ella M., Valparaiso; Elizabeth, Fred and Harriet, sons and daughters. One brother, John of Chicago, and one sister, Agnes, in Germany, are living.

    Peter Miller was an honest, industrious and respected citizen. He had many friends who sincerely regret his death.

    He died at St. Margaret's hospital, Hammond, Wednesday morning, August 4, 1926, having lived 65 years, 8 months and 22 days.

    Funeral services were held at the M.E. church Friday at 2 p.m. Rev. C.A. Brown preached the funeral sermon. Interment was made in Lowell cemetery beside his wife. Undertaker Sheets was in charge of the burial service.
