Elmo William "Mo" Schultz (1910-1995)
- Mrs. C.E. Cobb has two grandsons in the U. S. army -- Staff Sergt, Stanley E. Davis, stationed at Ft. Sumner, N. C.; and Pvt. Elmo W. Schultz, at the Spokane Air Depot, Galena, Wash.

Returns to Camp After Furlough
Following a furlough with relatives in Hammond and Chicago, Pvt. Elmo Schultz, former Lowell boy, has returned to camp at Galena, Wash. "Mo" writes that "no gas and limited time kept him away from the old home town this trip".This July 12, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, columns 2-3:
- F/O Stanley Davis is home on a 30-day leave after over 11 months in the ETO. He will report to a California camp after the leave has expired. Stanley is a grandson of Mrs. Cobb of Lowell, who has two other grandsons, Elmo Schultz and Clarence Cobb, Jr., in service.
This December 27, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 8, column 3:
- Mrs. Vessie Smith, of Hammond, and son, Elmo W. Schultz, of Chicago, visited Mrs. I.J. Cobb, mother of Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. J.H. Hayhurst and son, Ivan, last week. Elmo has just returned from 30 months overseas duty.
This Lowell Tribune article was found in the February 7, 1946, issue (page 5, column 3):
- Three grandsons of Mrs. Iza J. Cobb saw service in World War II. They were: Elmo Schultz, Stanley Davis and Clarence M. Cobb, Jr., who just came home last week. The latter, who is taking a medical course in Chicago, will go back to school soon to finish his training.
The following August 2, 1995, Lowell Tribune obituary was found in the Lowell Public Library local history clippings file (LH--Vital Statistics, vol. 5, page 73):
- E. William "Elmo" Schultz, age 85, of Des Plaines, Ill., formerly of Lowell, passed away Wed., July 26, 1995, at Holy Family Health Center in Des Plaines. He is survived by: his wife, Marie (nee Conway) Schultz; and one sister, Shirley Baxter of Hammond. He was preceded in death by one brother, Victor Schultz. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 29 at St. Emily Church in Des Plaines. Interment followed at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Des Plaines. Born July 17, 1910, in Lowell, he was the son of the late William and Vessie (nee Cobb) Schultz. A 1928 graduate of Lowell High School, he was a World War II veteran.
