The following article was found in the January 21, 1943, Lowell Tribune on page 2, column 1:

Mrs. C. E. Cobb has two grandsons in the U. S. army -- Staff Sergt, Stanley E. Davis, stationed at Ft. Sumner, N. C.; and Pvt. Elmo W. Schultz, at the Spokane Air Depot, Galena, Wash.

The following June 29, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 5, column 4:

Mrs. C.E. Cobb visited her daughter at Lake Village, from Saturday until Monday. Her grandson, Stanley E. Davis, who is home on furlough, will leave for overseas duty this week. Davis is a pilot in the U.S. air forces.
