A photocopy in the local history clipping files at Lowell Public Library (Vital Statistics, vol. 1, page 79) reported that George S. Clark, son of Joseph Addison Clark and Harriet Story Clark, belonged to the 73rd Indiana Volunteers during the Civil War. Two of his brothers, Joseph A. and Alva V., also served in the war.
