The following November 29, 1928, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 1, column 2:

LOWELL GIRL WEDS HAMMOND YOUNG MAN

An interesting wedding which took place on Sunday, November 25, 1928, was that of Miss Gladys Sprague, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.P. Sprague, of Lowell, and Evan Imes, son of Mr. and Mrs. G.A. Imes, of Hammond. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. C.A. Brown at the M.E. Epworth Memorial church at South Bend.

The bride was served as maid of honor by Miss Ruth Imes, sister of the groom, who wore a gown of brown crepe and chiffon velvet. She wore a corsage of lovely yellow rose buds. The bride was lovely in a gown of brown chiffon velvet with harmonizing accessories. She carried a lovely bouquet of tea roses. The groom was served as best man by Elmo Sprague, brother of the bride.

After the ceremony the wedding party, which included Miss Irene M. Lear, Russel Ecklund, Hunter Imes, and Leslie Ross, drove to Lowell to the home of the bride where a lovely wedding dinner was served.

Mrs. Imes is one of the most popular of the younger set of Lowell, and has a host of friends. She has been in Hammond for quite some time. The many friends of both the bride and groom are wishing them well.

They have taken an apartment and will be at home to their friends at 780 Hohman street, Hammond.
