MARRIED AT HOME OF PARENTS IN LEROY

In a service of simple beauty, Miss Margaret Jane Palmer, eldest of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Palmer's four lovely daughters, was married to Pvt. Paul Davis, Sunday afternoon of last week in the Palmer home at Leroy. Rev. Marion Bishop read the ceremony before 50 guests, members of the immediate families, and intimate friends, at 4 o'clock. As Mrs. J. D. Harper played the wedding march from "Lohengrin", the bride came down the open stairway to join her father, who gave her in marriage as she stood before an improvised altar. There in the candlelight with her and her bridegroom, trim in his army uniform were her sister, Miss Jean, and Joe Rudolph, who wore his Purdue ROTC uniform.

Mrs. Harper played for Miss Mary Lencioni's song-prelude of 'Because' and 'I Love You Truly'.

Margaret Jane was a beautiful bride in a gown of white crepe and net, worn with a finger-tip veil. A coronet of seed-pearl orange blossoms circled her hair. She carried a single white orchid in a prayer book. Her sister Jean was a charming bridesmaid in a frock of blue and white dotted Swiss, with which she carried a colonial bouquet of vari-colored flowers.

Mrs. Palmer was in powder blue and Mrs. Cly Bolton of Gary, Pvt. Paul's mother, wore a suit of biege wool. Their flowers were white gardenias.

Nearly 50 neighbors and family friends from Crown Point and Leroy joined the wedding guests at Crown Point, from Chicago, Kokomo, Plymouth, Hammond, Gary and Lowell, for the reception which followed the wedding service.

Honor-guests were the young couple's four grandmothers: Mrs. James Palmer and Mrs. Wiles Klug, Mrs. E.B. Farley and Mrs. Sharts of Chicago, Mrs. R. W. Schreck, Mrs. Davis' aunt, came from Nashville, Tenn., for the wedding.

A family party in the Bolton home in Gary, Wednesday, served as farewell to Pvt. And Mrs. Davis, who left last Thursday for Mississippi, where she will live in Hattiesburg, not far from Camp Shelby, where he is stationed.
