Robert "Bob" Spry
- Paul Dierks, Bob Spry, Bobby Hancock and Dick Ready left last Wednesday for naval duty. Dierks enlisted in the navy and was sent to Great Lakes for his "boot" training. Spry, Ready and Hancock enlisted in the naval reserves and are now at home awaiting call.
This November 1, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
- Robert Spry and Dick Ready, who enlisted in the naval reserve Aug. 1st, were called for duty last Friday. They have been sent to Camp Petty, Va., where they will take their "boot" training.
This Lowell Tribune article was found in the January 17, 1946, issue (page 2, column 2):
- Robert Spry, S 1/c, is home on 10 days leave from Camp Perry, Va. Bob has just completed his "boot" training there.
This May 9, 1946, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 5, column 5:
- S 1/c Bob Spry and S 1/c Dick Ready, stationed at Norfolk, Va., and Washington, D.C. respectively, were home for a week end visit with their parents.
This July 4, 1946, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 5, column 3:
- Robert Spry, Yeo, 3/c, son of the Milton Sprys, who was recently promoted to that rank from S 1/c, is home from Norfolk, Va., on a 15-day leave. Other navy boys home on leave are Robert Shipman, Harold Walker, Kenneth Jones and Herbert Williams.
This September 5, 1946 Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 5:
- Bob Spry, Yeo, 3/c, who was discharged from the Navy August 28th, arrived home on Labor Day, after one year of service. He plans to re-enter Valpo. U. this fall.
