The Clark Family, 1896

- The Clark family owned the Lowell Brick Yard from 1860 to 1900. The top row of the photo features the following:
- Allie DuMond Clark, wife of Wilbur, former school teacher at Little Egypt School south of Lowell (1870-1937)
Nellie Jayne Dresser Clark (1860-1954), wife of Harry
Harry Elwood Clark, owner of Delta Land Ranch in Trempealeau, WI (1860-1950*)
a superimposed image of James Vories, post master on the Valpo to Detroit mail train (1871-1926)
Mary Etta Clark, married to James Vories of Valparaiso (1873-1950)
The second row, from left to right includes:
- Wilbur Clark, who ran the brickyard for his father Perry until his death, then settled in Montana (1867-1933)
Marrietta Clark, who came to Indiana in 1836 with her husband Jabez Clark (1812-1899)
Jonah Thorn, Lowell's first businessman with hardware on Commercial (1813-1899)
Sarah Mae Clark, daughter of Wilbur and Allie (1895-?)
Sarah Jane Clark, daughter of Jonah, wife of Perry (1841-1919)
Perry D. Clark, owner of the brick yard on N. Liberty, 1860-1900 (1835-1904)
Lena Vories, daughter of Mary Etta and James Vories (1893-1945)
The front row includes:
- Thomas Clark, who grew up in Montana,then settled in California (1893-?)
Harry Elwood Clark, who would later work for his Uncle Harry as bookkeeper (1891-1960)
Thorne Dickinson Clark, who would later run his Uncle Harry's Delta Land Ranch and return to Lowell about 1930 to work for Globe Industries (1890-1965)
* NOTE -- Although R.T. Wilson listed the death year for Harry Elwood Clark, the husband of Nellie Jayne Dresser, as 1950, an article in a newspaper listed it as 1952.
