The following article comes from the Oct. 12, 1944, Lowell Tribune, page 1, column 2:

EVELYN LOVE AND PAUL PHEBUS MARRIED SEPT. 27.

A pretty wedding occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Love on Wednesday, Sept. 27, when their youngest daughter, Evelyn Juanita became the bride of Paul David Phebus, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Frank Phebus.

At 6:45 Margaret Bailey took her place at the piano and softly and beautifully played several appropriate numbers. At 7 o'clock, to the familiar wedding march, the bride entered on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage. The single ring ceremony, performed by Rev. Roy Brumbaugh, pastor of the Presbyterian church, was beautiful in its simplicity.

The bride wore an aqua crepe street length dress with a corsage of red rosebuds. She had as her bridesmaid, her sister, Grace, who wore a street length dress of coral crepe and a corsage of shaded pink rosebuds. The groom was attended by his brother, Emerson.

Following the ceremony a buffet luncheon was served to the twenty-five relatives and a few guests.

After the ceremony the usual viewing of lovely gifts was enjoyed and a buffet luncheon was served the entire group.

The happy couple left amid a shower of rice and other difficulties, for a short homeymoon in southern Indiana, after which the groom will resume his occupation of farming.
