Arthur Conrad "Art" Rudolph
The following newspaper article, hand-dated 1915, was found in a scrapbook owned by Harriet Hoevet Bennett:
Birthday Party
Sunday, Oct. 10, was the 18th birthday of Arthur Rudolph. Monday night his friends planned to surprise him, but suspecting something was wrong when a few neighbors dropped in, without coat or hat he ran for the cornfield or some other place of concealment. Everyone hunted and called for him, but in vain, so they started playing games without him. About 10 o'clock Arthur, thinking lunch was about ready, appeared in his blue overalls. He was soon dressed up and joined the merry bunch eating the lunch. Those present: Mrs. Matt Hoevet; Miss Clara Pasky; Mr. and Mrs. E. Hoevet and son Lemar; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Oltrogge and daughter Alice; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Doty and family; Chet Pixley and daughters Mildred and Mabel; Miss Esther Taylor and brothers Leo, Forest and Milford; Harry, Harold and Ray Wheeler; Frank Hess; Mr. and Mrs. Cass Scritchfield and daughter Bessie; Mrs. Festus Sutton and daughter Altie; Miss Mabel Bruce; Misses Anna, Clara and Martha Einspahr; Bertie and John Bruce; Berlin Hatch and Wm. Dohrmann. A most enjoyable evening was spent and all present wished Arthur many more happy birthdays.Return to Biographies.
