Florene Clare Pinkerton Fisher (1896-1929)

- Florene Clare Pinkerton, daughter of Cass D. and Minnie Pinkerton, was born in West Creek township, Lake county, Indiana, August 22, 1896. She passed away at one o'clock on the morning of May 2, on the tide of Eternal Life at the early age of 32 years, 8 months and 10 days, leaving the companion of her short pilgrimage, Fred Fisher to whom she was married on November 26, 1921. She united with the Church of Christ on August 16, 1915, under the preaching of S.O. Landis. She loved the church for the simplicity of its gospel and for all that it stands.
She leaves to mourn her departure, a devoted husband, one daughter, Aletha Dawn, 6 years old; father, mother and five brothers -- Dr. F.J. Pinkerton, of Honolulu, Hawaii, Dewey of Miller, Ind., and DesMoine, Cordell, and Ogden, of Lowell, and two sisters, Leoti and Delta, also of Lowell, besides many devoted relatives and scores of friends. One sister, Ione, passed away November 11, 1924.
Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ Sunday afternoon. J.E. Poer preached the funeral discourse. A quartette composed of Mrs. Grace McCarty, Mrs. Nellie Einspahr, Forrest Greisell and Will Tatman, with Mrs. Will Tatman at the piano, furnished the music. Interment was made in the Sanders cemetery in charge of Sheets and son.
The following acted as pall-bearers: Walter Einspahr, Will Nichols, Jay Hathaway, Frank Patz, Frank Lappie and Ernest Bahr.

We deeply appreciate the many kindnesses shown to us when our dear wife, mother, daughter, and sister passed away. We thank you for the sympathy shown by the beautiful flowers (some of which we have no record of giver), the kind words, deeds and autos furnished on the day of the funeral.We also thank the minister, Mr. Poer, for the comforting words, the singers for the songs sung and all those who helped us in any way to lessen our sorrow by word or deed.
