For more than a year she was confined to her bed. A sleeping porch was built for her and all the care of her family and the skill of physicians freely given but to no avail. Galen was a very retired and modest disposition. She became a Christian under her father's ministry, when but a little girl. Her faith was clear which her example attested. She was buried by the side of her mother at Lebanon, Indiana, Friday, July 9. Funeral services were conducted at the Lowell Methodist church Friday morning at 9 o'clock by Rev. W.E. McKenzie, assisted by Rev. Harry Hamilton, of the Christian church. Short services were held at the grave by Rev. F.R. Briggs, of Lebanon.

Rev. and Mrs. C.A. Brown, three brothers, Olin, Claude and Cleo accompanied the body to its last resting place.
