- PASSED AWAY YESTERDAY A.M.
- Mrs. Simeon L Sanger, who has been in very poor health for several weeks, passed away at her home on Clark street yesterday morning at 8:15. Funeral arrangements will not be made until word is received from her son Jud, from Los Angeles, Cali.

- OBITUARY
- Mary Elizabeth Belshaw was born in West Creek Township, Lake Co., Indiana, May 23, 1845. She passed away in the afternoon of May 21, 1924, at her home in Lowell, within two days of her seventy-nineth birthday.
- She married Simeon L. Sanger February 26, 1868. He preceded her in death March 2, 1912, at his home in Lowell. Their married life was spent in and near Lowell. Four sons were born to them of whom one died in infancy.
- Mrs. Sanger suffered a slight stroke March 31, 1924, from which she soon partially recovered, being conscious most of the time, and able to converse with relatives and friends. She showed a gradual improvement most of the time until last Wednesday afternoon she experienced a sinking spell and quietly passed away without apparent pain.
- She united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in Lowell early in life and always continued a faithful member. She was one of the oldest members of the Ladies' Aid Society devoting many hours to its work. Her religious views were not narrow or limited but of a broad and considerate nature believing always in the practical application of her understanding of the bible teaching. She was of retiring and considerate disposition and lived for her home and family.
- Her sons, Walter and Harry of Lowell, and Judson of Los Angeles, California, survive her, together with seven grand-children. She had three brothers and five sisters of whom Johnie, Eunice, Lettie and Jennie are deceased. Charles, William, Anne and Candace are living. Also foster daughter, Mrs. Mary Bogardus, of Chicago, who came into the home in childhood received and cared for as a daughter.
- Funeral services were held at her late home Friday, May 23rd, at 2 P.M. Rev. C.A. Brown, her pastor, preached the funeral service. The music was furnished by Mrs. George Foster and Mrs. Harry Foster. Interment was made in the Lowell mausoleum beside her husband. Undertaker WIlliam Sheets had charge of the burial service. The following were pall bearers: Clayton Belshaw, Burdette Sanger, Edmund Dinwiddie, Virgil Sanger, Lee Sanger and Harold Sanger.
