Lake Prairie School - 1934

The following photo appeared in the Sept. 24, 2006, issue of the Post Tribune with the following caption:
- In 1934, the children in West Creek Township near Lowell attended the Lake Prairie School and all of them posed for a picture in front of the school. According to Dorothy Huseman of Lowell, there were only two rooms in the school, which dated back to 1890. Huseman said the teacher for children in grades 5 to 8 was Thuel Hayden, who was also the principal. The teacher for the younger children was Rena Dahl. Huseman writes that her brother, Milford "Bud" Kenning, can be seen third from the left in the back row, while Norbert Huseman, who would grow up and marry her, can be seen fifth from the left in the third row.
