Malinda C. Scritchfield Garrison (1849-1921)

- Malinda C. Scritchfield, daughter of Hiram and Hester Scritchfield, was born in Decatur county, Ind., October 6, 1849, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Brannock, in Lowell, August 27, 1921, at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 21 days.
She was united in marriage to William P. Garrison December 25, 1869. To this union three daughters were born. Mr. Garrison preceded her in death ten years ago.
She leaves to mourn her loss, three daughters, Mrs. Martha A. Brannock, Mrs. Carrie J. Hayden and Mrs. Alta M. Buckley, all of Lowell, Ind.; ten grand-children and one great-grand-child; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Cleveland, of Crown Point; Mrs. Francis Wood, of Lowell; Mrs. Fidelia Thompson, of Creston; three brothers, Oliver Scritchfield, of Kansas; Alex Scritchfield, of Creston; Richard Scritchfield, of Lowell.
Mrs. Garrison united with the M.E. church at Creston 46 years ago and was faithful to the end. She was a kind and loving mother and a friend to every one.
Funeral services were held at Creston M.E. church Monday at 2 p.m. Rev. C.A. Brown preached the funeral sermon. Interment was made in the Creston cemetery. Undertaker Weaver had charge of the burial service.
