Friedrich Simon "Fred" Miller (1872-1956)
(NOTE: The family's genealogy book lists his name as Friedrich Simon Miller.)
- While Fred Miller and Claude Bowles, of West Creek, were driving home in a two-horse wagon Thursday evening, and had arrived at the Buncombe school house, the team ran away, caused by one of the horses getting over the tongue and the other one kicking. The team ran two miles, one of the lines having broken. Miller and Bowles were thrown into a ditch, while the horses were run down. Geo. Bailey took the team home for them, while they hoofed it.
