In 1885 John, with his parents, moved by covered wagon to the undeveloped territory of Iowa and Dakota, where two winters were spent in pioneering. Again returning to Lowell to make his home, he, on Dec. 21, 1891, was united in marriage to Tena Uhter. To this union 12 children were born, as follows: John Arthur and Henry Everett, of Lowell; Sadie Marie of Valparaiso; Mrs. Ada Forney and Forest Kaleb, of Lowell; Harry of Chicago; Mrs. Edna Herron of Lowell; Mrs. Rose Etzel of Martinton, Ill.; Mrs. Mary Reed of Lowell; Mrs. Della Molenaar of Munster; Violet and Myrtle, of Lowell. Other survivors are four brothers, Frank of Lowell, Lewis of Hammond, Edson of Sheldon, Ill., and Edmon[d] of Lowell; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Frashour of Hebron and Mrs. Ida Westberg of Chicago. One brother and one sister preceded him in death years ago. Funeral services were conducted at the Church of Christ Sunday at 3 p.m., J.E. Poer, minister in charge, and Sheets and Son directing. Interment in the Lowell Cemetery.
Notes -- In the Worley Family Record, John Henry Worley's death date is given both as June 15, 1930 (page21), and as June 30, 1930 (page 23). His death certificate, however, lists the date as June 26, 1930. In The Worley Family Record, the date of his marriage is listed as Dec. 31, 1891, but in this obituary, it's listed as Dec. 21, 1891.
